1. Introduction

Welcome to Mavoss (“we”, “our”, “us”), operated by Modern Sports Stats. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect when you use mavoss.app, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Data We Collect

We collect minimal data to operate the service:

• Device fingerprint — a hash derived from your browser user agent, screen resolution, and timezone. This is used solely to create an anonymous session and is never linked to your identity.
• Vote history — which players you have voted on and in which direction, stored server-side against your anonymous session ID.
• LocalStorage values — your session ID and free-vote counters are stored locally in your browser. We do not access this storage from our servers.
• Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp). Logs are retained for 30 days for security purposes.

We do not collect your name, email, or any other personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide it in a fan comment.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To enforce per-session vote limits (3 free votes per player)
• To display aggregated community market values and vote counts
• To detect and prevent abuse, bots, and vote manipulation
• To improve platform performance and fix bugs

4. Third-Party Services

We integrate the following third-party services which may collect data under their own policies:

• Google AdMob — serves rewarded ads. Google may use device identifiers for ad personalisation. See Google Privacy Policy.
• Google reCAPTCHA v3 — protects vote endpoints from bots. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information. See Google Privacy Policy.
• Wikipedia REST API — used to fetch player headshot images. No user data is sent to Wikipedia.
• Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from Google servers, which may log your IP address.

5. Local Storage

We store the following in your browser’s localStorage:

• mavos_session_id — your anonymous session identifier
• mvs_vs_{player_id} — remaining free votes per player
• mvs_cv_{player_id} — locally tracked community values (mock mode only)

You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.

6. Data Retention

Anonymous session data is retained for up to 90 days after your last activity. Server access logs are deleted after 30 days. Aggregated vote statistics (not linked to individual sessions) are retained indefinitely to maintain the leaderboard history.

7. Your Rights

Because we hold no personally identifiable information, most data protection rights (access, rectification, erasure) cannot be exercised against anonymous data. However:

• You may clear your local data at any time via browser settings
• You may request deletion of your session data by contacting us at legal@mavoss.app with your session ID (found in browser DevTools under localStorage → mavos_session_id)
• EEA/UK residents: you have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority

8. Children’s Privacy

Mavoss is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the service, contact us and we will delete the session.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
